Blessing.

Psalm 128:6…May you see your children’s children…

🎶21 years down

all the rest left to go

they’ll be green

they’ll be blue

they’ll be silver and gold

i’ll go with you east

i’ll go with you west

i’ll go with you north

and south

my life with you has been blessed

and i want you to be

for the next few hundred years

with me

and i want you to be

for the next few hundred years

with me🎶 Opus Orange

My children, I believe in you. Your voice is important. Your dreams and hopes are beautiful. My life for your life.

Obedience.
You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands;
you shall be happy, and it shall go well with you.
Psalm 128:2

🎶Forgiveness is the garment

Of our courage

The power to make the peace

We long to know

Open up our eyes

To see the wounds that bind

All of humankind

May our shutter hearts

Greet the dawn of life

With charity and love🎶

Keeper
The Lord will keep

    your going out and your coming in

    from this time on and forevermore. Psalm 121:8

You know You own me

Open up my windows, and unlock all the doors

Blow right through me🎶

Protector

I lift up my eyes to the hills—

    from where will my help come?

…he who keeps you will not slumber…

Psalm 121:1-4

🎶And yeah when the bomb went off

We were dancing in our kitchen with a neon cross

Yeah when the call came back

I was standing in the shadow of a panic attack

Yeah, I don’t know where I’m at

I never saw it coming, never thought I’d wake up

With no place to call my country

I got no place to call my country🎶

Learn

8 I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go;

    I will counsel you with my eye upon you.

9 Do not be like a horse or a mule, without understanding,

    whose temper must be curbed with bit and bridle,

    else it will not stay near you.

10 Many are the torments of the wicked,

    but steadfast love surrounds those who trust in the Lord.

11 Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, O righteous,

    and shout for joy, all you upright in heart. Psalm 32:8-11

I pray some day you’ll see the wonder that surrounds you

See through the blind fog that has bound you

‘Cause every day, every day I live to see you live

And hear you say “I was here, I was here.”

It seems that every moment is a memory when you’re near.

Heart keeps beating – “I was here, I was here.” Roo Panes

Shelter
7 You are a hiding place for me;

    you preserve me from trouble;

    you surround me with glad cries of deliverance. Selah

 Psalm 32:7

🎶Somewhere out there

Can anybody hear my prayer

Save me

From this dark land

If I had wings

I would fly away from everything

That hurts me and tears me down

Is there a home for a mother and a child

In the world with no place left to hide

We will run though the way is dark and long

We will sing

You’re our hope, you are our song

Lord, take my hand

Lord, help me stand🎶

Weary

5 Then I acknowledged my sin to you,

    and I did not hide my iniquity;

I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”

    and you forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah

Psalm 32:5

Will we ever rise?

Will we ever rise above the fear?

Can we learn to see the need?

Can we share humanity?

I can see another day come
Will we ever rise?

Will we ever rise above the pain?

Can we learn another way;

Forgive as you forgave?

I can see another day come

Treasure

Treasure

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:19‬ ‭

Broken, Lent 2017

15 O Lord, open my lips,

    and my mouth will declare your praise.

16 For you have no delight in sacrifice;

    if I were to give a burnt offering, you would not be pleased.

17 The sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;

    a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.

Treasure on earth.

 Harvest lost.

A broken and contrite heart.

Harvest comes in.

🎶When the charms and riches do not seem to last

When your lover asked for proof is not up to the task

I’m surprised you think you even need to ask

I’ll be waiting for your call🎶

🎶May I never give in and accept the fact

If I can’t feel your presence let me feel the lack

‘Cause even if you never will be coming back

I’ll be waiting for your call🎶

Lectio Divina: Psalm 51:10-14

As we read the scriptures a third time, think what action God may be inviting you toward. -The Liturgists

14 Deliver me from bloodshed, O God,

    O God of my salvation,

    and my tongue will sing aloud of your deliverance.

Inviting me…

I will weigh the cost of my consumption. :$2.53 + tip:
I will walk to the water.

3 laps to a mile.

3 laps to the filtered water.

I will donate the cost of 40 days of my caffeine fix.

I spend around $3 on caffeinated drinks and tips at the office cafeteria.

$3 for 40 days…$120 💥

That’s only accounting for beverages consumed during the work day…

My work life is comfortable–I read about the sacrifices people make to access clean water while I consume caffeinated beverages under the pretense that they make me more awake–awake for 8 hours in a cubicle. I’m in a place where I have considerable autonomy over the pace that I work…and I lean on caffeine to cope in my climate-controlled, secure, office. I am privileged. Am I awake?

I will walk to the water but it still will not compare to the reality that is faced by so many.

I will walk and think on what is true outside my comfort.

I will walk each hall, paid for by taxes in support of all who labor. I will match each dollar and change. I will count the next step. I will advocate for the workforce beyond the borders of this state.

Water is a need we all share…if you’d like to share what you r been given I encourage you to join me in support Charity: Water this Lenten season–more info below.
