I shall not die, but I shall live, and recount the deeds of the Lord.

Psalm 118:17

🎶I want to make out all the signs I’ve been ignoring

How the trees reach for the sky or in the length of someone’s hair

‘Cause when you don’t know where you are going

Any road will take you there

🎶So maybe I’m in town for someone’s birthday

Maybe I make trouble everywhere

But as much I resist the conversation between the rivers and the freeways

I know it’s always there

I was pushed hard, so that I was falling, but the Lord helped me.

Psalm 118:13

Hear. The buck stops.

🎶Where the hounds run

Track me in my sleep

When I can’t trust the company I keep

When I’ve push passed the point of pressing on

You’re what I’m counting on

You’re what I’m counting on

🎶I’m throwing stones

Up at your window

I’m casting shadows

Upon your door

🎶Where the bombs break

Right outside my door

And I can’t shake the onset of my wars

When the stakes are raised

We hold the hand we’ve drawn

You’re what I’m counting on

Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me in a broad place.

With the Lord on my side I do not fear. What can mortals do to me?

Psalm 118:5-6

🎶 I went to the Lord with a bow and arrow

Tried to shoot him down with a song of sorrow

But love is not a thing that we can borrow

It costs you blood and bone

🎶 Carry my heart in a pocket of southern wind

Take me some place that I have never been

O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his steadfast love endures forever! Psalm 118:1

🎶So lift your voice just one more time

If there’s any hope may it be a sign

That everything was made to shine

Despite what you can see

So take this bread and drink this wine

And hide your spirit within the vine

Where all things will work by a good design

For those who will believe

🎶And let go, of all, we cannot hold onto

For the hope, beyond, the blue

For with the Lord there is steadfast love, and with him is great power to redeem. Psalm 130:7

🎶People will raise a whole lotta hell,

About the water and the windmill,

And although I stab chaotically,

It hurts no one but me,

Even the darkness has arms,

But it ain’t got you,

Baby I have it and I have you too.

my soul waits for the Lord

more than those who watch for the morning,

more than those who watch for the morning. Psalm 130:6

🎶You need it, that’s for sure

You receive, but always want more

Take it for granted, this lifetime and what’s up ahead

🎶But the day is coming

The day is near

The day is coming

You know what I mean

The day is coming

The way is clear

The day has come

If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities, Lord, who could stand?

Psalm 130:3

🎶And we’re slow to acknowledge the knots in our laces

Heart it races

🎶And we go back to where we moved out to the places

Heart it races

I saw these socks and all I could think is–where can I get Netflix socks? Instagram socks with little ❤️’s?

What kind of socks do you find yourself stepping into? Weary soles are tired and in need of repair. How about we wash our feet in a couple weeks?

Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord.

Lord, hear my voice!

Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications!

Psalm 130: 1-2
🎶On them bad days, I got them good drugs

To sweep the pain up under the rug

And when the straw breaks I say a little prayer

To the God of Abraham and anybody who cares

And hope they’re listening, listening, listening

🎶: @thewhistlesandthebells

Can we be open about our pain?

I know I don’t have it together, my socks don’t even match. Do they make socks that feature self-deprecating humor?

The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down. Psalm 146:8

If you fall, I will catch you, I’ll be waiting

Do not put your trust in princes, in mortals, in whom there is no help. Psalm 146:3

🎶If,

If I,

If I ever wander on by

Could,

Could you,

Flag me down and beg me to

Drop what I’m doing and sit beside you🎶
